Alright, let’s get to the good stuff. Here’s your step-by-step guide on how to vibe check yourself and start living a life that’s actually in alignment with the energy you want to experience.

Step 1: Pause and Take Inventory

Before you can fix anything, you have to notice it. Take a moment right now—what’s your vibe like? Are you feeling light, expansive, and full of possibility? Or are you carrying stress, resentment, or straight-up exhaustion? Self-awareness is the first step to change. The more often you pause and check in, the easier it gets to shift your energy when needed.

Just this morning before writing this I was feeling overwhelmed. Sam and I have 3 renovation projects in South Carolina that are now (finally) complete. That part is great. However, they have taken twice as long as expected and the contractor we hired to do them did not pay attention to all the design details I outlined. So, the properties are not what they could be. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to me when people stop at 90%. It drives me INSANE. This is why we are no longer doing any large renovation projects long distance. Sam and I want eyes on everything. We are building a brand and that brand is really important to me. I don’t want anything with our name on it that isn’t the best of the best.

I had to pause and take inventory on myself - do a little vibe check. These projects have taken around 8 months or longer. That’s a lot of time and energy and management. So, I don’t blame myself for feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. However, I didn’t want to carry that energy into the rest of my day. What would be the point of that? So, I got up, washed my face and did a little light gut sha - and while doing so, started setting my mind on how excited I was to sit down and create this blog post to share with you all. I shifted my focus from what was overwhelming and frustrating to what was exciting me… something I was looking forward to. This made all the difference.

Your feelings are often valid, but you don’t have to stay stuck in them if they are holding you back.

Step 2: Ask Yourself the Hard Questions

Now that you’ve paused, let’s dig deeper. Ask yourself:

  • What’s been draining me lately?

  • Am I operating from a place of fear or faith?

  • What kind of energy am I bringing into my relationships? Into my day?

  • Am I stuck in the past, obsessing over the future, or fully present in my life?

  • Why do I feel this way right now?

Oof. Sometimes the truth is uncomfortable, but clarity is power. The sooner you recognize patterns that aren’t serving you, the sooner you can shift out of them. This doesn’t have to be complicated, and you do not need to make your feelings “wrong.” We all need to realize that we can always choose higher frequency feelings at any point of the day.
